Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are third molars.  They usually erupt between the ages of 17 and 25.  However, there are cases where they erupt sooner or later, or sometimes not at all.  There are many reasons that wisdom teeth should be removed.  First, they are usually not aligned properly and the jaw is not large enough to accommodate them.  Secondly, they are harder to keep clean and are more susceptible to decay.  There are times when they only partially erupt, which can cause pain, swelling, jaw stiffness and general illness.

Wisdom teeth are just part of what constitutes oral surgery.  Our skilled dentists can help you with any problems you may have.  For severe oral surgery cases, we have a board certified oral surgeon on staff.  Our office also offers conscious sedation for procedures like this.  Please call us today to schedule a consultation appointment.
