Dental implants are titanium screws that are placed in the jawbone. They act as the anchor, or the "roots" of a false tooth that will be placed over the implant. Once an implant is in place with the crown, it is impossible to tell that it is not a real tooth. Unlike traditional bridgework, implants do not involve other teeth.
